History

The Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine has Departmental staff members that are specialists in Epidemiology, Zoonoses, Food hygiene, Food Safety, Antimicrobial Resistance, Biostatistics and Molecular Investigation of Infectious Diseases.  The Department is involved in the training of both Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) undergraduate students at the clinical level and Postgraduate students aspiring to achieve the award of M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine. The Department had been involved in several public health campaigns and public health education, especially in the course of the outbreak of diseases like COVID-19 and anthrax using the vehicle of radio stations, and social media among others.
